Cole Muir’s first goal of the season just 55 seconds into the game started another big night for the Winnipeg ICE as they outscored the Regina Pats 6-3 to complete a sweep of their WHL East Division rivals.
Matthew Savoie scored twice while Zach Benson, Connor McClennon and Maximilian Streule rounded out the attack as the ICE improved to 6-0-0 on the season.
Drew Englot, Logan Nijhoff and Cole Dubinsky scored for Regina, who’s lost five in a row. Connor Bedard was held pointless, was minus-3 and had six shots.
Daniel Hauser earned his fourth straight win in goal making 24 saves.
The ICE outshot the Pats 31-27 while going 1/3 on the power play and 5/5 killing penalties.
Regina’s off till next Friday when they host the Saskatoon Blades on AccessNow TV.

Brayden Peters posted a 25-save shutout for the Calgary Hitmen in a 2-0 win Saturday over the host Red Deer Rebels.
Zac Funk and defenceman Keagan Slaney were Calgary’s goalscorers. Red Deer goalie Chase Coward stopped 31 shots in a losing cause.

Dylan Garand stopped 23 shots to register the shutout for the Blazers, who scored three first-period goals in the contest.

Chad Nychuk scored the winning goal at 3:41 of overtime for Brandon.

Egor Sidorov’s goal at 14:30 of the third ended up being the winner for the Blades, who scored three times on the power play.
