EDMONTON – Josh Norris scored a pair of goals as Ottawa erased a 3-1 third-period deficit in a 6-4 come-from-behind victory over Edmonton in the NHL. The Senators won for the first time when trailing after two periods. The Oilers continue their poor play of late. They have dropped six straight and are 2-10-and-2 in their last 14 games.

SUNRISE, FL – The chant from Florida fans started in the first period, growing louder with every goal the Panthers scored.
“We want 10!”
“We want 10!”
“We want 10!”
The NHL-leading Panthers nearly complied with that rather exorbitant goal request. Carter Verhaeghe and Anton Lundell each scored twice, MacKenzie Weegar tied a career-best with four points and Florida rolled past the Columbus Blue Jackets 9-2 on Saturday night.
“Today was a special game,” Lundell said. “Again.”
These days, most of them are for the Panthers. They’re 8-0-1 since the season resumed after the Christmas break, outscoring opponents 54-24 in that stretch. Florida is 26-7-5 overall and 21-3-0 at home, both of those marks the best in the NHL.

CHICAGO – Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 37 shots for his third shutout of the season and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 for their fourth straight win. The Blackhawks improved to 14-9-and-3 under interim coach Derek King. The 37-year-old Fleury recorded his 70th career shutout.

ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills dismantled their AFC East rivals the New England Patriots 47-17 in an NFL wildcard playoff game. Josh Allen set a franchise record by throwing five passing touchdowns. Buffalo scored on all seven possessions of the game that didn’t end with a kneeldown. The Bills defeated New England for the second time in three weeks.

CINCINNATI – Joe Burrow led an efficient offense that scored on six drives, including two of his touchdown passes, and rookie Evan McPherson made four field goals as the Cincinnati Bengals finally advanced in the playoffs with a 26-19 win over Las Vegas in Saturday’s wild-card game.
It was a victory three decades in the making for the Bengals (11-7), who hadn’t won in the postseason since 1991. After going from worst to first in the AFC North with a generally young roster, they ended an embarrassing long postseason drought that spanned 31 years and eight consecutive defeats.

Safe travels and sincere blessings for you and much appreciation for the content provided. 1) Bengals/Pats. I was asked if Cincinnati was ever good by a 22 yr old. I said, “when I was a kid, they were in 2 Super Bowls and that no mind on the panel Boomer Esiason was actually a great QB. The other QB on there Phil Simms was great too. 1991….a lifetime ago, but in some way I can remember it like yesterday. If people think attendance is bad now for Riders/Pats games. I seen Louis Dumont get 50 goals and the crowd resembled… Read more »
