CEBL OPENING NIGHT WRAP: SASK RATTLERS WIN!

SASKATOON, SK –The season opener for both the River Lions and Rattlers went down to the wire, but it was the Rattlers who came away with a 92-89 victory over the River Lions as they took their home opener on Wednesday night. An excited crowd filled the SaskTel Centre to cheer on their Rattlers and the momentum from their defence in the second half held them ahead of the River Lions and gave them the push they needed to find their rhythm offensively and take the win.

OTTAWA, ON – After trailing for the majority of the game, the Fraser Valley Bandits came back to defeat the Ottawa BlackJacks 90-87 in a thrilling season opener at TD Place in Ottawa.  Bandits guard Alex Campbell hit an absurd contested three and scored the team’s final 7 points to lead Fraser Valley to victory. 

HAMILTON, ON – It was a big night for Burlington guard Caleb Agada, who made his return to the Hamilton Honey Badgers. Agada had a team-high 17 points as well as eight rebounds and four assists. Hamilton beat the Montréal Alliance 80-72 on May 25 to open their 2022 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) campaign with a victory. It was also the Alliance’s first-ever CEBL game.
