620 CKRM RIDER RADIO NETWORK EXPANDS

Harvard Broadcasting Inc. is pleased to announce that several key signings have been made to expand the roster of the 620 CKRM Saskatchewan Roughrider Radio Network.

Today’s Country CKBI-AM 900 Prince Albert joins the network with enhanced coverage to the Prince Albert/Melfort region and FM repeater coverage to the northern communities of Big River and LaRonge.
In the West-Central and North-West portion of the province, the most comprehensive and continuous all-access coverage in the CFL will be broadcast via the tandem of Today’s Country CJNB-AM 1050 North Battleford and CJNS-FM 102.3 Meadow Lake.

“The addition of 900 CKBI in Prince Albert is a homecoming for me as that signal was one of my first stops in this industry,” states Rod Pedersen, play-by-play voice of the Riders, “It’s fantastic that even more of Rider Nation will now be able to tune in and cheer together on game-day.”

In addition to the northern expansion of the signal, for the very first time coverage to Saskatchewan’s largest city will be delivered in FM stereo quality as the Riders’ biggest moments will be heard on Saskatoon’s Greatest Hits – 96.3 CRUZ-FM.

“As a football club we’re excited to witness the growth of the network and the expanded opportunity for Rider Nation to tune in wherever they might be across the province,” says Craig Reynolds, President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. “We are particularly excited about the enhanced signal quality to the city of Saskatoon with a great partner like CRUZ-FM.”

With the veteran presence of GX94 Yorkton and network flagship 620 CKRM Regina, this season will witness an expanded number of broadcast partners that takes Saskatchewan Roughrider broadcasts to all corners of the province.

Combined with the mobile streaming options via the 620 CKRM app and the official Rider App, Rider Nation can now follow game- day broadcasts of “Canada’s Team” anywhere across Saskatchewan and around the world.

The debut broadcast of the expanded Rider Radio Network will occur Saturday, June 13th, as Rod Pedersen “The Voice of the Riders” and Carm Carteri travel for the first time ever to SMS Stadium at Shell Place in Fort McMurray, as the Edmonton Eskimos host the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL’s inaugural Northern Kick-Off.

does this mean we are going to be able to hear the sportcage on any of these channels? in Saskatoon 620 comes in pretty choppy. It would be nice to be able to listen on the drive home without streaming on my phone.

All corners of the province except the richest, the Southwest. Thanks Golden West Radio for a shitty radio monopoly.

620 is choppy in Saskatoon? That's odd, it's just fine around Preeceville and that's a greater distance from Regina than Stoon is.

Somehow, in the story Rod still found a way to make it about himself in his quote. What a talent he has to always try to draw attention back on him, even though it's all about the football team.

Great news. As long as RAWLCO Radio never ever gets their hands on Rider broadcasts its a plus.

Awesome news.

620 AM reception is marginal in vehicles within Saskatoon and typically too weak to overcome local interference indoors. Streaming only reliable option for SportsCage. Put it on 96.3 FM for the 400 to 630p slot too pls.

The Southwest should be able to afford free apps on their phones to listen to sportscage.

Good news. Hope I can get the FM Meadow Lake signal at the lake. If not I hope the AM PA one works. The only northern station today that carries the game is Stoon and it was really horrible when they would turn down their transmit power during the evenings.

Aw, little buddy is upset that his company lost out in the bidding rights for Rider games last year. Little buddy is upset that his company's sports show still lags behind Rod's in popularity by far. Little buddy is also upset that George Strait is still infinitely more popular on the radio than Brantley Gilbert and Kacey Musgraves!

Eat a snickers bro. It's a long weekend for crying out loud.

Some of us can actually get thru a day without driving, walking, standing or sitting and staring at our phone. Some of us actually drive without texting. yeah, I know, hard to believe. We must be OLD.

Bud…..If you have time to listen to a radio….You have time to listen to a radio app. It might take me 2 seconds more to fire up the app on my phone as it does to switch stations.

Assuming this is just for football games and not the Sportscage. Interesting to see it move to FM in Saskatoon since CRUZ is a very amateur station and tough to receive after you are 5 or 10 KM from the city. The games will definitely give them a boost. If that part was announced yesterday, would have assumed it was an April Fools joke. Anyway…looking forward to the season.

Brutal quote Roddy, you should brush up on your PR skills to not come across so egotistical.

One comment observed, "Assuming this is just for football games and not the Sportscage".

I read the whole story and still it was not clear to me either… what gives?

Maybe these guys should not expand if they can't even make an announcement?

I want to assume that it is just for the Rider games, but if it is for Sportscage also, I am not sure how those listeners would be that interested in the continuous barrage of Pats coverage. Would be nice to hear more about either the Riders or the CFL.

Rider Nation, R Nation appropriately affiliated with Ottawa football.
