MLB

The visiting Toronto Blue Jays will open a three-game series on Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Jays are coming off a weekend series win over the Oakland Athletics, including Sunday’s 6-4 decision in 10 innings highlighted by Isiah Kiner-Falefa’s 5 R-B-Is. Right-hander José Berríos will be on the mound Monday for the Jays, while the Brewers will go with right-hander Colin Rea.

CFL

Cameron Dukes threw three touchdown passes and ran for another as the Toronto Argonauts defeated the visiting B-C Lions 35-27 on Sunday night in the CFL season opener for both teams. Dukes finished 21-of-27 passing for 254 yards in leading Toronto to a fourth straight home victory over B-C.

 

NHL

The Edmonton Oilers will be aiming to tie the best-of-seven Stanley Cup final series tonight when Game 2 is held at Amerant Bank Arena. The Florida Panthers, with 32 saves from Sergei Bobrovsky, defeated the Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 on Saturday. Games 3 and 4 will be played in Edmonton.

 

NBA

Jrue Holiday had 26 points and 11 rebounds, and Jayson Tatum made up for a rough shooting night with 12 assists and nine rebounds as the Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 105-98 on Sunday to take a 2-0 lead in the N-B-A Finals. Luka Doncic, who was listed as questionable to play less than two hours before the opening tipoff, scored 32 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Game 3 is Wednesday night in Dallas.

 

CEBL

Jahvon Blair’s 26-point explosion helped the Niagara River Lions (3-2) defeat the Edmonton Stingers (4-2) 100-79. Blair led the way for a white-hot Niagara team, knocking down four shots from beyond the arc, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out two assists and snatching two steals. 

On Tuesday, Brampton visits Saskatchewan and Montreal is at Ottawa.
