Commentary: Thank Me Later
(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
Whaddya know? We’re reached Wednesday and it’s time for random thoughts …
#1 – The scene is shifting for the Stanley Cup Final. From the palm trees and scalding temperatures of South Florida to the pumpjacks and grassy fields around Edmonton.
Two different worlds.
Will the series change on a dime too? The Panthers are up 2-0 but nobody worth their salt thinks this thing is anywhere near over.
And don’t you dare mention the “S” word around the Panthers.
#2 – The series took a nasty turn in Monday’s Game 2. There were some officiating controversies which I still don’t think got sorted out, and Florida captain Sasha Barkov is a question mark for Game 3 in Edmonton after taking a dirty shot to the jaw from Oiler star Leon Draisaitl.
Hey – he’s not scoring, so he might as well do something!
#3 – If you want to catch a game in Edmonton, in a suite, I know a guy. The price tag is $6,000 per game. I wish I was joking. Anyway, DM me if interested!
#4 – The 2024 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Draft was held on Tuesday. With the #1 overall pick, the La Range Ice Wolves selected forward Declan Borthwick of Prince Albert. Exciting stuff!
#5 – It’s Week 2 in the CFL and the storylines are already interesting. The schedule looks like this: Winnipeg at Ottawa, Montreal at Edmonton, Calgary at BC and Saskatchewan at Hamilton.
We’ll get our picks out later in the week but here’s a spoiler: I’ll take the Riders to beat Bo Levi in the Hammer.
#6 – If you’re looking for something to do tonight, why not head on up to Saskatoon to take in the pro basketball Rattlers as they welcome the Brampton Honey Badgers?
If you’ve never been, then this is definitely the time to go!
Tickets are cheap and this is the closest to the NBA many Sask folks will ever get.
You can thank me later.

I can confirm that it is true inside every Saskatchewanian that ever wanted to achieve is an Albertan wanting to bust out. Farming, Mining, Manufacturing, and Oil. If you make a living in that field that’s why you stay. It’s the only reason. The rest is government cradle to grave Cuba handouts and Mississippi north racism. Nothing more than a desolate wasteland with people who don’t deserve… Read more »
