Friday Commentary: Decisions

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …
#1 – Let me know if you’re someone who predicted all the first round Stanley Cup Playoff series correctly. I got most of em right – like Florida, Toronto, Washington, Carolina, and Vegas – but whiffed on the Oilers series, and of course we’re still waiting on Colorado-Dallas, and Winnipeg-St. Louis (I picked the Stars and Jets).
But predictions aside, the hockey has been absolutely fabulous. This spring is tied with 1990 for being the highest-scoring Round 1 ever. If the Jets or Blues score five or more goals tonight, it’ll be the highest-scoring ever!
We’re also on track for an all-Canadian Stanley Cup Final. Wouldn’t that be something.
#2 – Not sure how it happened but I need to toughen up. Coming home from those road trips to Tampa Bay for playoff games got us home between 2:00 & 3:00 am and it takes me days to recover.
Back in the day we used to do it two, three times per week! A lotta guys my age and older still do.
It’s what you get used to I suppose, and the life of a sportstalk host is pretty cushy. I never disputed that! That’s a big reason why I wanted to do it.

#3 – I repeat from yesterday’s Commentary: CFL rookie camps open next Wednesday, and main training camps open next weekend. In speaking with longtime friends this week, whom I thought were big football fans, they said they were unaware the Draft was held this week and also unaware there’s a new Commissioner.
The CFL has some work to do.
#4 – Baseball provides such a nice distraction. Maybe that’s why it’s America’s pastime and remains so popular. We of course follow the Blue Jays around here and they’ve won back-to-back games for the first time since mid-April after disposing of Boston 4-2 Thursday night. Vladdy put the Jays in front with a 3-run homer in the eighth.
Meanwhile, not sure if you noticed or care, but the Colorado Rockies are off to their worst start in franchise history.
Sometimes I think it would be fun to be back working with a team full-time again, then other times I really enjoy covering it all.
One thing I know for sure is: I don’t need to decide today.

If anyone attends a codependency anon meeting. Step 1: We admit we are powerless over people places and things. Our lives have become unmanageable. Figure that out and everything else on planet earth locks into place. The new Commish comes from TSN. How would that go out of business? It’s mainstream government funded state media. His first steps – Bud Light is the sponsor – Seattle Kraken got everyone fired with this. What does CFL do? Marginalized d e.i internships. Thank God for men like me. Randoms – for the new/young guys. Sit your boys ages 9-14 in front of… Read more »
So what’s held you back from amounting more then mouthing off your misogynist rants on a sports based website? Can’t you just enjoy the article without spewing your pathetic rhetoric that has very little do with the article.
I also know I am falling into your trap responding to your trash comments but you really need to figure things out, this webpage would have much more potential and interactions between sports fans if you didn’t wait to sidetrack it everyday with your trash.
I could not agree more
I rarely have time to address you two ham ‘n eggers but here it goes: Both of you and the guys like you two. You have to face the facts, that the vast majority of you are just born with inferior DNA compared to me. And you say “It’s not fair I’m born with inferior DNA!” But you feel sorry for yourselves, you wallow in your self-pity, and then you have to face the facts, that life is not fair. And some of you, a select few, you might as well go ahead and admit it, you might as well… Read more »
