Commentary: Only Young Once

A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …

#1 – We’re in Burlington, ON today for a very special Football Friday on the RP Show, live from Joe Dog’s Sports Bar featuring a bevy of CFL Alum and surprise guests. They footed the bill to bring us out here and do it up big! That’s the plan and I’m hoping to get to the Riders & Argos tonight at BMO Field but as you know … one thing at a time. Tune in at 10 am and 2 pm MT on Game+ Network and YouTube Live.

#2 – Week 3 in the CFL kicked off Thursday night with Montreal rolling to a 38-28 win at Edmonton. The first thing I’ve seen all morning is complaints from the Edmonton fans about their QB, their defense, and reasons/excuses for another pathetic crowd.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and this new regime took over scorched earth. You wanted results overnight? Not at a chance.

#3 – I’m assuming that you’re like us, and casually follow the NBA? While walking back to the hotel last night, I noticed the TVs in bars were tuned to the NBA Finals. So if you care enough, Indiana beat Oklahoma City 108-91 to force a Game 7 on Sunday in Indy.

And #4 – The party is on back home in South Florida as the Panthers celebrate with their second straight Stanley Cup. They beat Edmonton Tuesday night in Game 6 to clinch it, and I’m following the fallout with the Oilers as much as what the Panthers are doing.

Last night Florida star Sam Bennett announced on stage at a bar that he’s not signing anywhere else as a free agent and the roof went off the place. If you’ve seen the video, you’ll know what I mean when I say I hope he remembers saying it.
