Has it hit you yet?

The Toronto Blue Jays are headed home from LA just one win away from capturing their third World Series title, and their first since 1993.

The Bluebirds put themselves in this position by capturing two of three at Dodger Stadium this week including a rather mind-blowing 6-1 victory Wednesday night.

The highlights? Davis Schneider and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. led off the game with back-to-back homeruns off Dodgers starter Blake Snell, and Toronto pitcher Trey Yesavage did the rest, setting a World Series record for strikeouts by a rookie with 12, in the victory.

Yesavage said it himself afterwards – even Hollywood itself couldn’t have written a script this good.

Although for the Dodgers, it has to be a horror story.

So now the series shifts back to Rogers Centre with the Jays leading 3-2, and can win it all with a victory Friday in Game 6 or Saturday in Game 7.

Oh there will be many planning the parade route. Leafs fans have had it mapped out for years and the Raptors used it not that long ago.

But the Jays aren’t getting ahead of themselves. Max Scherzer’s been down this road before and said after last night’s game that they just have to go 1-0 and the rest will take care of itself.

It sounds so unbelievably boring but Mad Max is right – if you take care of the little things, the big things take care of themselves. If you get it the other way around, you won’t have anything to celebrate.

And methinks the Dodgers aren’t about to go away quietly.

The most remarkable story of the century in Canadian sports is at hand.

Enjoy watching it unfold …
