COORS LIGHT RECAP: PATS TRIPPED UP IN OT IN SASKATOON

SASKATOON – The Regina Pats got 36 saves from Max Paddock in a 2-1 overtime loss in Saskatoon on Friday night.

In the first period, Max Paddock stood tall making 16 saves on 16 Saskatoon shots. The Pats tested Blades goalie nine times in the frame as well, but it was scoreless after one.

In the second, the Pats outshot Saskatoon 14-11 but gave up the lone goal. Max Gerlach opened the scoring with seven minutes left in the frame and the Blades led 1-0 after two.

In the third, Regina drew even on the powerplay when Austin Pratt tipped home his team leading 15th at the 4:38 mark. Robbie Holmes and Sebastian Streu drew assists and the game was tied at one and needed overtime.

The Blades took 1:20 of powerplay time into the extra frame and Kyle Crnkovic scored with one second left in it to give the Blades the extra point in a 2-1 final.

The Pats were outshot 38-33. The powerplay was 1/3 while the penalty kill went 1/2. Max Paddock made 36 saves in a second star performance.
