RIDERS’ EDEM IN CANADA WEST ALUM SPOTLIGHT

EDMONTON – Mike Edem of the Saskatchewan Roughriders is the Canada West (CW) Football Alumnus of the Month for August.

A six-year veteran of the Canadian Football League (CFL), the safety appeared in all three games this month for the Riders, racking up 11 total tackles and a fumble recovery, as Saskatchewan went 2-1 over the month to jump into third in the CFL’s West Division.
Edem’s best game of the season came in Week 11 against his former team the BC Lions, as he recorded six tackles and a fumble recovery in the Riders’ 24-21 victory.
This marks the second time in the former Calgary Dinos’ career he has won the award, which honours a former CW player now excelling professionally in the CFL. Edem previously won the award in October 2016 when he was a member of the Lions.
