EVERETT, Wash. – Connor Dewar scored twice as the Everett Silvertips staved off elimination with a 6-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday in Game 5 of their best-of-seven Western Hockey League final series.

Riley Sutter scored the game-winning goal for the Silvertips at 6:09 of the third period. Sutter added a pair of assists.

Wyatte Wylie, Matt Fonteyne and Sean Richards also scored for the Silvertips, who trail 3-2 in the matchup.

Glenn Gawdin had two goals and Noah King also scored for the Broncos.

Carter Hart turned aside 21 shots for Everett. Stuart Skinner made 34 saves for Swift Current.

The Silvertips went 1 for 3 on the power play, while the Broncos went 1 for 3 with the man advantage.

The Broncos will look to close out the series in Game 6 at home. The winner advances to the four-team Memorial Cup tournament.
