RIDERS’ LABATTE WINS SEASON-OPENING RACE

2018 is off to a great start for Brendon Labatte.

The veteran Saskatchewan Roughriders offensive lineman won the IMCA Stock Car Feature Saturday at Estevan Motor Speedway.

It was the first race of the season.

The 31-year old from Weyburn, SK is entering his 11th CFL campaign after originally being drafted in the 1st round of the 2008 CFL Draft by Winnipeg out of the University of Regina.

While football has been Labatte’s career, driving stock cars has been his passion. He’s been doing it for over a decade.

Being 6’4″, 324 lbs hasn’t seemed to be a problem fitting into the stock cars!

However as it has for the past several years. Labatte’s racing season will be cut short. 2018 Saskatchewan Roughriders Training Camp begins May 20 in Saskatoon.

Congrats Blue!
