STEUBENVILLE, OH – Officials with the Jefferson County Drug Task Force announced Monday the Zach Collaros Foundation has given the task force a $3,000 donation.

Jason Hanlin, a detective with the task force, said the donation will be used to purchase four body-worn cameras for task force officers.

“We are extraordinarily grateful for this donation,” Hanlin said. “Zach Collaros has always represented Steubenville proudly and continues to give back to his hometown. We will use these body cameras as we continue to fight the opioid epidemic in Jefferson County. These cameras will help us capture evidence in our investigations and enable us to show jurors exactly what officers encounter during narcotics investigations.”

Each year the Collaros foundation selects local recipients for its donations. The foundation is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the lives of children living in the local area.

Collaros is the quarterback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati and high school football at Steubenville High School.
