CARTER SEARS JOINS TIGERS AS HEAD SCOUT

The Medicine Hat Tigers are pleased to announce the hiring of Carter Sears as the team’s new Director of Player Personnel. The Bienfait, SK product brings over 25 years of scouting experience to the Tigers organization, having spent the previous 5 seasons as a Pro Scout for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League.

Carter, originally from Southern Saskatchewan began his hockey career as a player for the Estevan Bruins of the WCHL. He would then go on to become the Head Scout for the Red Deer Rebels for 13 seasons, highlighted by the team’s Memorial Cup Championship win in 2001. In 2011 Carter would add another Championship to his resume as a Scouting Consultant for the Kootenay ICE. The ICE would go on to win the Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL Champions that season.

Carter says he has been re-energized by the opportunity to work with a team as storied as the Medicine Hat Tigers franchise.
