OKSANEN LEADS PATS TO 6-1 ROUT OF RED DEER

Regina – Emil Oksanen scored his first career hattrick and added an assist to lead the Pats to a 6-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Sunday at the Brandt Centre.

Oksanen scored once in the first and added another in the second to give Regina the 2-0 lead. Red Deer responded on the powerplay and it was 2-1 heading to the third.

That’s when Regina took over starting with Oksanen’s hattrick goal, 4:27 into the period.

Bryce Platt, Josh Mahura and Dawson Davidson added goals after that to give Regina the 6-1 win.

Oksanen’s four points paced the offense while Sam Steel and Dawson Davidson chipped in with three points each and Tyler Brown made 21 saves. Regina outshot Red Deer 38-22, the powerplay was two for hour and the penalty kill six for seven.
