RED SOX LIGHT UP MOOSE JAW 19-13

It was a wild night at Currie Field. The Regina Red Sox brought out the big bats early as they powered their way to a 12-run lead after three innings.

Moose Jaw battled back with seven runs in the top of the fourth. Regina then added a pair in their half of the fourth to make the score 14-7.

The Miller Express tallied six runs over the final three innings while Regina scored five to make the final 19-13 for the Red Sox.

The first-place Red Sox improved their record to 18-8 while Moose Jaw, now 15-13, stayed ahead of the fourth-place Weyburn Beavers.

Moose Jaw starter Zach McDonald, who lasted just one inning in his fifth start, was tagged with the loss. The freshman from Brescia University faced 11 Regina batters and was hammered for eight runs on six hits.

Austin Alarid pitched four innings in his fifth Red Sox start of the season. Alarid was tagged for seven runs on seven hits before handing things over to the Regina bullpen.

Preston Minor was first out of the bullpen and picked up the win. Both teams used six pitchers in this hit happy game.

Offensively, Jordan Schulz had two singles, a double and a triple, scored four runs and registered five RBI for the Red Sox.

Broderick Rodocker also had a big night for the Sox. Not only did he hit his sixth homerun of the season, overall, he had four hits, two runs and three RBI.

Moose Jaw outfielder Travis Able had three hits and three runs for Moose Jaw. Cutter McDowell made an impression in his second game with the Miller Express as he had three hits and two runs and a RBI.

The two teams will play again Thursday night at Currie Field. Game time is set for 7 pm.
