SOX WIN IN MELVILLE, HOST MILS ON WEDNESDAY

Aden Campbell hit his first homer run of the season in Regina’s 7-1 rout of the Melville Millionaires. Jordan Schulz and Phil Langlois each contributed a double in the game. Both now have four doubles on the season.

Marshall McPherson raised his season average to .387 with his three hits in the contest.

Red Sox starter Austin Alarid improved his season record to 1-1 with his six-inning performance. Preston Minor, Ruddy Estella and Justin Magstadt all three one inning of shutout ball.

Brody Curry was tagged with the loss after 4.1 innings.

After tonight’s win in Melville, Regina, now 8-3, is first in the Eastern Division. Melville sits in fifth spot at 4-7.

The rematch takes place in Regina on Wednesday night at Currie Field. Game time is 7 pm.

Swift Current
Swift Current outfielder Blake Adams, a junior from Tarleton State University is this the WMBL Player of the Week.

Last week the Longview, TX native had 11 hits including a double and two home runs. He also added six RBI and two stolen bases.

On the season, Adam is hitting .378 with three home runs, 13 RBI and four stolen bases.

Yorkton Cardinal right hand pitcher Kody Rock is the WMBL Pitcher of the Week for Week #2 .

The Saskatchewan born Rock had an incredible outing against Melville on June 8. The senior from Mayville State University, pitched eight shutout innings and allowed just four hits and a pair of walks. He also struck out 16 of the 31 Melville batters he faced.

In his two starts this season Rock has 20 strikeouts in 11.2 innings.
