BROWN NAMED GOALIE OF THE WEEK

Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Regina Pats goaltender Tyler Brown has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week and the league nominee for Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 12, 2017.
The 19-year-old Brown went 3-0-0-0 with a 1.67 goals-against average, .949 save percentage, 93 saves and one shutout this past week, helping the Regina Pats bounce back after a short slide.
On Wednesday, March 8, he stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 4-2 win at Swift Current and was named third star for his efforts. On Friday, March 10, Brown was perfect in turning aside all 26 shots sent his way in a 5-0 win versus Moose Jaw, earning second star honours. Finally, he blocked 32 of 35 shots on Saturday, March 11, in a 4-3 win at Moose Jaw and was named third star.
In 48 appearances this season, the product of Winnipeg, MB, is 31-8-5-1 with a 2.65 GAA, .912 SV% and five shutouts. He ranks among the WHL leaders in GAA (fourth), wins (T-5th) and shutouts (T-2nd).
The 6-foot-1, 178-pound goaltender was originally listed by the Regina Pats and has notched a record of 59-34-7-6 with a 2.95 GAA, .908 SV% and seven shutouts over 117 career WHL regular season appearances since the 2014-15 season.
