PRESS BOX SPORTS BAR RECAP: COUGARS 5 PATS 2
PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Regina Pats got off to a slow start in Prince George on Tuesday night and lost to the Cougars 5-2 at the CN Centre.
The Cougars scored three times in the first 13:30 of the opening frame. Austin Wagner got the Pats on the board with his 10th late in the period and it was 3-1 after one.
After a scoreless second, Sergey Zborovskiy scored a powerplay goal to get the Pats within one early in the third. It stayed 3-2 until late in the frame when the Pats pulled Tyler Brown for the extra attacker.
Prince George scored twice into the empty net and won the contest 5-2.
Tyler Brown stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss. Lane Zablocki led the offense for the Pats with two assists.

– Adam Brooks extended his point streak to 15 games in the loss with an assist. (8G, 25).
– Chase Harrison had an assist on Tuesday and is riding a 16 game point streak (4G, 16A).
– The Pats are now 2-2-0-0 on their six game road trip.

We won't talk about goaltending…Paddock covered that well enough on his post game comments!
Beating up on poor teams with run and gun means walk and lose when you play good defensive teams.
They need to learn to play defence, keep the puck out of their net, play some greasy hockey with heart.
Some may not see it but this team needs some tweaking. A couple trades are in order to fix weaknesses.
The team isn't as good as their record suggests.
If anyone sees a problem it will be Paddock.

The coach was not a very happy coach after that game. Not sure the team would have wanted to be stuck on the bus with him last night. I thought that would be a tough game to win and it was. Not worried too much. I trust that the coach will have them back on the right track fast. GO PATS GO!
Should not be a problem….score 6-8 goals a game and we win most games
They will trade for a stud D man and if there is a stud goalie out there I am sure he will get him also both would be ideal one would work, But this team is still pretty good without a trade
They may entertain a trade or 2, but it may be for assisting down the line, like for draft picks or younger player in the system. I don't see a big need to upgrade for this year, contrary to what some Pats-doubters are recommending. Trading for "studs" come at a huge cost and not sure if JP and crew ready (or need) to go down that path yet. I agree this Team is very good even without a trade, but are going to have some off nights as any good Team does. Not too worried.
William Weppler, I agree that the team is already good and I am not too worried either. However, I'm not too sure what the ultimate goal is for this year. If it is to go far in the playoffs, they already have the team to do that. If the team is hoping to win a WHL Championship and then the Memorial Cup, then the Pats may need to make a move or three.
