RIDERS ACQUIRE QB JAKE WATERS

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired international quarterback Jake Waters from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for a negotiation list player.

A CFL source tells RodPedersen.com the neg list player is former South Florida quarterback B.J. Daniels. He’s a veteran of the 49ers, Texans, Seahawks and Giants.
Waters (6’1 – 210) is currently in his first CFL season after signing with Hamilton in April, 2016. The 24-year-old Iowa native has dressed in all three games this season for the Tiger-Cats as a backup quarterback.
Last season, Waters attended training camp with the Seattle Seahawks after signing with the team in August. He had originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars in May, 2015.
Before going pro, Waters spent two seasons at Kansas State where he completed 421 of 657 pass attempts for 5,970 yards and 40 touchdowns in 26 collegiate games.

I agree 110% Victor Isted. I love what C.J. and Murphy are doing by looking for the right guys. I was just pointing out how hard it is to find a worthy back up QB. So finding a starter is even that much harder.
The message was for those who feel that Darian should be replaced. I hear it at the gym and have gotten into heated discussions. The people that call for Darian to be replaced are usually fair weather fans. That type of thinking is ludicrous.
