CARDINALS 7 RED SOX 2

Jordan Schulz

The Regina Red Sox dropped a 7-2 decision Friday night to the Cardinals in Yorkton.

Yorkton got a stellar pitching performance from starter Justin Johnson, who improved his season record to 4-1. The Calgary born Johnson, held the Regina hitters to only two runs over seven innings.

Ben Schweinfurth, the senior from Southwestern Oklahoma, took the loss for the Red Sox.

Hunter Hisky had a monster night with the bat for the Cardinals. Hisky contributed three hits, including a home run, two runs scored and five RBI.

Offensively for the Red Sox, Jordan Schulz was one of the few bright spots going three for four with an RBI.

With the loss Regina now sits at 10-6 while Yorkton jumped to 12-9.

*The Red Sox are home to the Swift Current Indians Saturday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
