RED SOX 9 MILLER EXPRESS 2

The Regina Red Sox exploded for three runs in the first inning on their way to a 9-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Miller Express.

Adam Prashad pitched eight stellar innings in the Red Sox victory. Prashad, a senior at Madonna College, limited Moose Jaw to only two runs on six hits while fanning five. Seth Sorenson came on in the ninth to close out the game.

Jake Howard, Derek Slate and Justin Erlandson each had three hits and scored two runs to lead the Regina attack.  Korbin Polston and Howard also provided some highlight reel home runs for the 635 Red Sox fans in attendance. It was the first multi-homer game for Regina this season.

Regina hitters hammered Miller Express starter Jesse Marks for 11 hits and seven runs in just four innings.

With the win Regina improved their overall 2016 record to 9-5.

The Red Sox round out a short home stand Thursday night when they host the Melville Millionaires. Game time 7:05 pm.
