BEAVERS 3 RED SOX 2

The Regina Red Sox ran into a hot Weyburn pitcher Sunday afternoon as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Beavers.

Over 500 fans were treated to a very good pitching duel between Weyburn’s Nick Dorcean and Regina’s Allen Sanchez.
Dorcean, a native of Bellrose, New York, tossed eight innings of near perfect baseball giving up just one hit and a walk while striking out nine Red Sox hitters.

The Red Sox rallied in the ninth inning against reliever Eric Evans, but with two on and two out they were unable to score in either runner.
Sanchez made his first WMBL start for the Red Sox and threw 102 pitches over eight inning of work. He racked up 12 strikeouts in the loss.

Seth Sorenson pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Red Sox.
Offensively outfielder Jonathon Nunnally had a single, a walk, a stolen base and scored the first run of the game for the Red Sox.
The Red Sox now take their 2-2 record on the road for three games before returning home for a weekend series against the 2015 WMBL League Champion Lethbridge Bulls.
