Emerson Etem scored in the seventh round of the shootout as the Vancouver Canucks slipped past the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 last night in the final game of the regular season for both teams. Mark Scheifele was the lone scorer in the shootout as the Winnipeg Jets finished their season with a 4-3 victory in Los Angeles.

Also last night, Patrick Sieloff scored the winner in his first NHL game to lead the Calgary Flames past Minnesota 2-1. Also, Alex Galchenyuk and Max Pacioretty each scored twice as the Montreal Canadiens beat Tampa Bay 5-2. And Adam Henrique scored twice as New Jersey topped the Maple Leafs 5-1. Toronto finished the season with the NHL’s worst record.

The final two games of the NHL’s season go tonight, with four playoff-bound teams on the ice. First up, Metropolitan Division rivals Philadelphia and the New York Islanders meet in Brooklyn. Later, the Anaheim Ducks visit the Washington Capitals, who’ve clinched the Presidents Trophy for the regular season’s best record.

Marco Estrada takes the mound this afternoon as the Toronto Blue Jays host the Boston Red Sox and hope to end a four-game losing skid. Steven Wright gets the start for Boston. Yesterday, the Red Sox defeated Toronto 8-4 at Rogers Centre.

The Golden State Warriors could tie the record for the most single season wins in NBA history tonight when they visit the San Antonio Spurs. Golden State beat Memphis 100-99 last night for their 71st win. Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to 72 wins in the 1995-1996 season. Also tonight, the Toronto Raptors visit the New York Knicks.

Calgary’s Kevin Koe could win Canada’s first men’s curling world championship since 2012. He faces Denmark in the tournament’s gold-medal game this morning (9 am ET). Koe already beat Denmark 5-3 in the 1-2 Page playoff.
