QUAKERS 6 CAPITALS 2, SASKATOON LEADS 2-0

The AGI Insurance Quakers scored five times in the third period on route to a 6-2 victory over the Regina Capitals. The victory puts Saskatoon in the driver’s seat in the PJHL Championship with a 3-0 series lead.

Morgan Gallais and Taylor Mayer scored for the Capitals, who lead 2-1 after the second period. Cody Pettapiece, the game’s first star, had a three-point night, two goals and an assist, for the Quakers. Rhett Kehoe, Tyson Rosner, Brody Senger and MacArthur Bell rounded out the scoring for Saskatoon.

Regina fired 24 pucks at Brett Lewchuk while Thomas Spence, making his first start of the series for the Capitals, turned aside 28 shots in defeat.

The series continues Thursday night at the Co-operators Centre. Puck drop for Game 4 is set for 7:30 pm. If needed, game 5 will be played at the Harold Latrace Arena in Saskatoon on Saturday.

Both the Quakers and the Capitals will play in the Keystone Cup, which will be held in Regina from April 14 – 17 at the Co-operators Centre.

The Keystone Cup is the Western Canada Junior B hockey championship. League champions from BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and North Western Ontario will join the Capitals and Quakers in the tournament.

Rod, the new logo looks great! I, for one, welcome this change. The old logo was tired and outdated, and it was time for a change. Oh ya, April Fool's Day to you!
