REDBLACKS EXTEND GOTT
OTTAWA-GATINEAU – The Ottawa REDBLACKS announced Wednesday the signing of offensive lineman Jon Gott to a two-year contract extension through the 2018 CFL season.
The Edmonton native anchored the REDBLACKS offensive line last season, helping the team to an East Division championship and the first Grey Cup appearance in club history.
Gott, 30, has been an integral part of the REDBLACKS since the team’s first game in 2014 after being acquired in a draft-day deal with Calgary after Ottawa traded the rights to quarterback Kevin Glenn to the Lions for the first overall selection, which was then traded to the Stampeders for the bearded centre.
“Jon has been the anchor of our offensive line from day one,” said REDBLACKS general manager Marcel Desjardins. “His contributions to the REDBLACKS both on and off the field have been tremendous and to be able to secure his services through the 2018 season is great news for our team and our city.”
Gott said it was an easy decision to re-sign in Ottawa.
“I am happy and excited to re-sign and stay in Ottawa for two more years,” said Gott. “I have enjoyed my time here in Ottawa so far and am happy I get to continue playing for not only a great organization, but the best fans in the CFL as well. I’m excited to build off last year as a team and bring a Grey Cup back to Ottawa! Fear the beard!”

The same fans that have allowed 2 other CFL franchise in that City to go belly up with lack of support

Red Blacks fans are wayyyyyy better than riders fans who only support a winner and in the 80s Sask had to have a phone telethon just to save their sorry franchise if riders fans were truly best fans than there would be zero reason to have a telethon ,so riders have no room to talk
So Rider fans keep the team going with telethons and have no room to talk, but Ottawa fans let their team die twice from lack of support and jump on a one season band wagon and are the best in the world?
Nothing about that makes any sense.
