BROOKS NAMED 1ST TEAM ALL-STAR, DENIED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Regina, Saskatchewan – Regina Pats forward Adam Brooks has been named an Eastern Conference First Team All-Star. The Western Hockey League released the 2015-16 award nominees and members of the conference all-star teams Wednesday, March 23 ahead of the 2016 Playoffs opening Thursday, March 24.
In his fourth season with the Pats, Brooks lead the WHL in scoring with 120 points (38G, 82A) in 72 games. His 82 assists were tied for the league lead. Along the way, Brooks was named the WHL Player of the Week twice and CHL Player of the Week once. The Winnipeg, MB product was the first Pats player to lead the league in scoring since Dale Derkatch in the 1982-83 season. His 120 points were the most in the WHL since the 2012-13 season and most by a Pats player since the 1992-93 season (Louis Dumont – 121 points).
Brooks was recognized with four Pats awards including the Player of the Year, Bill Hicke Most Popular Player, Torchey Schell Top Scorer Award and Three Star Award.
The Pats begin their playoff run against the Lethbridge Hurricanes in Lethbridge on March 25 at 7 p.m. Games Three and Four will be held at the Brandt Centre March 29 and 30, both at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are available at reginapats.com, the Brandt Centre Box Office, and Safeway locations throughout Regina.

Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced Eastern and Western Conference individual award winners for its 50th Season.
All individual conference award winners will be eligible for League awards at the 2016 WHL Awards in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, May 4th.

Hunt is great, don't get me wrong, but he isn't even the MVP of his own team. Did the league not weigh out the fact that he plays on a line with maybe the best player in the CHL? The captain of the WJC team. Of course that is Brayden Point. Without Point he wouldn't have hit 100 points- An MVP should noticeably be carrying the team on his back like Brooks did. Hunt is good player but much like here he is PP specialist. About 1/3 of this points come on the PP. Brayden Point was the team MVP and plays terrific in all situations and is a game breaker. When checked Hunt disappears. IMO Provorov was the east MVP. He was everything to the WK's and absolutely how could he have been excluded. Hicketts the west conference MVP? I have long suspected a lot of sports reporters don't know the difference between their butts and a hole in the ground. How is a guy with a 120 points and 30 penalty… Read more »
Provorov is the best player in the east. Without a doubt in my mind. Pats fan here. Over plus 60. I know he played on a good team, but he is way to good for the dub will be in Philly next year for sure.
Yep, Provorov and that other D-man in Philly up for Calder this season will be a force.
