THUNDERBIRDS 4 PATS 2
KENT, WA – The Seattle Thunderbirds scored three power-play goals Friday night at ShoWare Center to secure a 4-2 win over the Regina Pats in front of 4,701 fans.
Goalie Landon Bow stopped 35 of 37 shots to get the win for Seattle. Since being acquired from the Swift Current Broncos, Bow has a 4-0-0-0 record.
Trailing 1-0 after 20 minutes, Regina (19-20-3-3) tied the game 1-1 at 3:56 of the second period on a goal from Luc Smith. Smith put back a rebound from a Liam Schioler point shot. Rykr Cole had the second assist.
Regina outshot Seattle 15-8 in the second period and led 20-19 in shots after two periods, however they trailed the hockey game 3-1.
Regina replaced starting goalkeeper Jordan Hollett with Tyler Brown in net after the fourth Seattle goal, coming from Donovan Neuls early in the third. Hollett made 16 saves on 20 shots and his record fell to 7-5-1-0.
Sean Richards scored for Regina at 10:48 of the third to cut the T-Birds lead to two goals. Chase Harrison had the only assist on the goal, but that’s as close as the Pats could get.
Regina outshot Seattle 17-7 in the third period and 37-26 in the game. Brown made six saves in 13 minutes of action.
The Pats are now 2-3 on their six-game road trip which concludes Saturday night in Tri-City at 9:00 pm on 620 CKRM.

I see Tyler Fuhr can't shake Daniel Wapple. Fuhr let go by Estevan Bruins Wapple now the new tender. Must want to compete in one last championship before his junior career is over!

Rod, do you know if Hobbs is ok? He didn't have a chance to get his hands out before he went head first into the ice. Game stopped to clean up all the blood. Good luck tonight Pat's, we're cheering for you.
Just watched the replay of the game. We didn't show up until mid second period. Played ok after that. Seattle was too big for us to handle well and they are very fast. Special teams were bad and poor penalties in the offensive zone. The big fourth line had both our goals and played well. Win tonight and it will be an ok road trip. Lose and it will be a poor road trip.
That's my feelings as well. Best players didn't show up at all and theirs did. PK was one of the worst i have seen this year and JP said as much after the game.
PP was its normal mediocrity…can't figure out why the coaches don't scout some successful PP teams and copycat them!!
