BEAVERS FORCE GAME 4, VISIT REGINA TONIGHT

A near capacity crowd of 1,328 filled Currie Field for game 3 of the WMBL Saskatchewan Division Final series.  It looked like it was going to be a perfect night for baseball in Regina, except for one small fact.  The Weyburn Beavers ruined the party by escaping with a 1-0 win.

The game’s lone run came in the third inning when Weyburn’s Wylie Johnston was hit by a Regina starter Jesse Pratt pitch with the bases loaded. Dan Moro crossed the plate to make the score 1-0 for the Beavers.

Pratt pitched seven strong innings allowing just four hits and four walks while fanning four. Jeremy Sylvester and Louis Cohen each pitched a shutout inning in relief.

At the plate, Tanner Stokey was two for four while Zach Weatherford reached base three times with a hit and two walks.

Regina now leads the best of five series two games to one. Game four is scheduled for Tuesday night at Currie Field with the first pitch set for 7:05 pm.
