CARDINALS CLIMB INTO SERIES WITH RED SOX

Yorkton stayed alive with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Regina Red Sox in WMBL playoff action Tuesday night.

After the game 2 shootout in Regina on Monday, this game turned out to be a classic playoff pitching matchup between Regina’s Jesse Pratt and Yorkton’s Codi Scanlon.

Pratt went eight innings scattering four hits and while striking out five. His only blemish came on a two run John Whaley double in the eighth inning.

Scanlon, who also gave up four hits, walked four and struck out five Regina hitters. He also hit two Regina batters.

Gabriel Montero and Geoff Seto were the only two Red Sox hitters to reach base twice. Montero had a hit and a walk while Seto walked twice. The Red Sox had their chances but stranded 10 base runners in the game.

The Red Sox will look to close out the first round best of five series, Wednesday night in Yorkton.

Why doesn't Mitchell Blair have anything on the WMBL on his blog? I thought he was the baseball expert in the Regina media.

More proof that this blog is all we need for Regina sports and the CheeseBurger Jabroni is useless.
