Rod…

Alex P and Namaan cuts are shocking. Alex a second round 6'-5" Canadian receiver who looked good. Namaan I heard may push for starters Job and had a great camp. Granted Alex wouldn't cracking starters roll but he looks like getz replacement in a year or so.

Also hope Hardin stays on practice roster. This kid looked great in college and not too bad in games. He's raw and practice roster may be good for him.

Wonder why Toronto and Hamilton don't respect the deadline for their cuts?

Not sure about the young receivers, are they hanging around? Sorry to hear Paul Woldu is gon but time marches on. Sure would be nice if there's a spot for him in some capacity with the team or on radio, he's great to listen to.i have complete trust in our coaches to pick the best people for the team and future stars will be protected somehow I'm sure.

Maybe the Green Zone can pick up Paul Woldu because they need someone who is a LOT better than Belton Johnson.

Either that or send MAM packing and put Woldu in his spot.

At least 10 of the guys released will be around the the PR. Some of those guys may even end up on the 46-man roster for Week 1. Not all the "released" players are completely gone.

As of now we only 1 one Canadian back up receiver and not much for Canadian backups on the O-Line. I would hope that Alex C and or Alex P stick around on the PR along withe some Canadian O-Linemen. Additionally, we do not have much back up with the International receivers I would hope the club offers PR spots to either Nathan R or Hardin.

We must be running it close to the salary cap as we did not put any players on the 1 game injured list.

RP, completely unrelated to cuts, but I have a question.
The PA guy mentioned in the 4th quarter last night some guy had disappeared from the stadium that had dementia. Do you know if he was found? My father suffered from dementia, and wandered away two or three times before he died seven years ago. I don't wish that on anyone, and it must have been very stressful for those he was at game at.

If you or anyone knows, please share

The case with Alex like a lot of other "supposed" high end picked by the GM and staff is surprising. It speaks to perhaps how our Canadian depth isn't what it has been, and seriously needs to be in order to be a real championship organization. Cutting loose top picks before they have actually been given a true shot is a very suspect way to build. We could have drafted an O-lineman back then if that's the case. We are short on quality ones right now. The two ex-games showed while we have decent veteran talent, our depth is not… Read more »

7 years in the CFL and you could never start? (Headshake)

It was time!

It will be a big mistake on Taman's part if he lets Alex p go. The kid is going to be a player.

Does Greg Harden win the Terrence Nunn award?

Well 2 loses based on coaches decision on how to play the roster. Edmonton & Calgary used far better system where the players had a chance to make the team. Having all the 3rd liners out together made them & the team lose. Other teams mixed their line-up so they could truely see how a replacement player performed for an injured guy. No chance of that when all the backups are in just not a smart coaching move. Some of the cuts are wild either Rob and his cohearts are poor judges of talent because guys they praised all through… Read more »

Hey Rod, I know it is no contest, but your gameday presentation compared to the opposition is like Ohio State playing the Regina Thunder. It is no contest! The pre-game show is a thousand times better and I couldn't listen to more than 15 minutes of Nye and Davis analyzing the game. McCullough and Mullinder are two of the best and they break it down because they know the game while those clowns beg for callers (which you don't) and play tape of players in a pathetic attempt to get someone to listen. Got all the way to Melfort again… Read more »

Let's not judge Taman and the Riders yet as things are still being settled with putting players on the practice roster(max of 10) and putting the final touches on the roster to get ready for the start of the season. Let's not get carried away and start making judgements! Brendan Taman and Co. Are a smart competent bunch and im will they will make sure the Riders have the best team ready for the 2015 season.. Go Riders!!
