RIDERS SIGN FIVE

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that international defensive backs Antareis Bryan, Darwin Cook, Jeremy Gray, Junior Mertile, Marrio Norman have signed with the team. As per club policy, details of the contracts were not released. 
 
Bryan (6’1 – 190) joins the Green and White after spending time in the CFL with Calgary and Toronto over parts of the last three seasons. The 26-year-old signed with the Stampeders ahead of the 2012 season before joining the Argonauts in 2013 where he played three regular season games, collecting six tackles, before spending the rest of the season on the injured list.
 
The Dallas native attended Chicago Bears 2011 training camp after finishing a four year collegiate career at Baylor.  
 
Cook (5’10 – 202) joins the Riders after spending four seasons at West Virginia University. While with the Mountaineers, the 23-year-old collected 243 defensive tackles, 15 interceptions, five fumble recoveries and two quarterback sacks in 49 career collegiate games. He attended training camp with the Cleveland Browns after signing with the team in May, 2014. 
 
Gray (6’2 – 188) has signed with the Riders after spending four seasons at North Carolina State. The Alabama native registered 132 defensive tackles, seven interceptions and a quarterback sack in 39 career collegiate games.  
 
Mertile (5’11 – 193) signs with the Green and White after spending the last two seasons in the NFL. Following four seasons at Florida International, the 25-year-old joined the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent, spending the 2013 season on the practice roster. Mertile then signed and attended training camp with the Houston Texans after signing with the team in August, 2014.      
 
Norman (6’0 – 200) joins the Riders after spending the previous three seasons in the Arena Football League, spending time with the Georgia Force, Orlando Predators and Cleveland Gladiators.  The 28-year-old attended training camp with the Baltimore Ravens last season after signing with the team as a free agent in July, 2014.
