RIDERS RELEASE DOEGE, FOUR OTHERS

Doege

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Friday the release of the following five players:

· International defensive lineman Chancey Aghayere
· International offensive lineman Pierce Burton
· International linebacker Justin Cole
· International quarterback Seth Doege
· International defensive back Ryan Steed

* Doege (Pronounced: DAYG-ee) appeared in four games with the Riders in 2014, starting one.  The Texas Tech star and former Atlanta Falcons quarterback completed only 14 passes for 150 yards while throwing a whopping five interceptions.  The move leaves the Riders with four quarterbacks on their roster: Darian Durant, Kevin Glenn, Tino Sunseri and Brett Smith.

To prove ANYTHING. Not nothing.

Yes he had more than enough time. He threw the ball into double coverage with wreckless abandon. He was terrible. Much like your grammar.

The Riders have good depth this year at QB. It was a move that you could see coming.

Hasn't Kevin Glenn proven he can't win when it counts? Why would he be second on the depth chart? It's Durant, Sunceri then Glenn.

Sunserei would struggle with the Rams…he was awful last year and we should of brought more new blood in. Tiny is no CFL QB.

I think Tino has a giant upside that Cortez mis-managed last year. It remains to be seen how Chapdelaine handles it this year.

Well, at least that is one less Doege in the Kennel.

Sunseri may or may not become a good CFL QB. Bad gamble just handing him the number 2 spot in just his second pro season in any league.
they brought no other QBs with any kind of pro experience to even compete for the number 2 spot. (like in 2012)
only two other QBS were brought in with little pro experiece to battle for the 3rd job.
really was not realistic to expect doege or sunseri to suddenly be a CFL starter so quickly should DD go down
