LIGHTNING SIGN WARRIORS’ POINT

Moose Jaw Warriors Captain Brayden Point has signed a three year NHL entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning who selected him in the third round, 79th overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Point completed his third WHL season with the Warriors, he scored a career high 38 goals and finished ninth in the WHL in scoring with 87 points.  
The Calgary product was selected 14thoverall by the Warriors in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, in three years in Moose Jaw he has played in 204 regular season games and has 99 goal and 236 points, and ranks 10th all-time in team scoring.

This season Point played in both games for Team WHL in the Subway Super Series and went on to capture gold with Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships.

Additionally, Point has signed an AHL amateur tryout contract to play the remainder of the season with the Syracuse Crunch.
