CHICK EXTENDS WITH THE GREEN & WHITE

FROM TSN.CA:

It appears the Saskatchewan Roughriders have locked up their top pass rusher for another two seasons.

According to a report from Rod Pedersen of 620 CKRM in Saskatchewan, defensive end John Chick has signed a two-year contract extension with the Roughriders.

Rob Vanstone of the Regina Leader-Post added that the Roughriders are expected to soon announce the deal.

Chick led the league in sacks last year with 15, his second year back in the CFL after returning from the NFL in 2013.

The 32-year-old has 149 tackles and 42 sacks for his career, all five years spent in Saskatchewan. The Utah State product was named the Roughriders’ nominee for Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Defensive Player last season.

This is great,on one year contracts you go through the process every year.
On another note, offer Glen a quarter backs coach for what ever rate that position demands. In addition if he dresses and does not play he would receive $5.000 per game. If he starts $7500 per game. this could resolve a coach and back up at once ,also the coaching portion would not count against the salary cap.

That Rider Pep Band needs to learn to play "Chick-a-Boom, Chick-a-Boom" and play it whenever he makes a sack.

One can only hope this signing convinces some Rider followers to step back from the ledge and stop calling for Taman's firing after he signed a back up QB 6 months before the season starts.

So sad to hear of the passing of George's dad Peter. I always appreciated his quiet presence over the years at the Four Seasons during Rider away games.

The defense is shaping up to be tough, tough, tough. But I'm thinking we need more than three receivers on offense. Dressler, Bagg and Getzlaf will be easy to cover without another threat somewhere.

Taj Smith?

I think he's referring to the above poster stating that dressler, bagg, and Getz will be easy to cover without another target Rod. Stating Taj Smith is one. Also to add to that I think Cory Watson if he can stay healthy adds another dimension.
