The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today international free agent quarterback Tino Sunseri has re-signed with the team. As per club policy, details of the contract were not released.

Sunseri (6’0 – 206) will stay with the Riders for his third CFL season after originally signing with the Green and White in May 2013 out of the University of Pittsburgh.
Last season the 26-year-old played all 18 regular season games, with four starts, completing 73 of 123 pass attempts (59.3%) for 973 yards and six touchdowns while also adding 20 carries for 97 yards and touchdown.
Through 36 career games, Sunseri has completed 87 of 141 attempts (61.8%) with six touchdowns. He won his first career Grey Cup with the Riders in 2013.
· The Riders also announced they have released national defensive end David Lee.

Warren Woods … surprised David Lee gets released.

If you even marginally follow along and realize Lee was brought in last year as Canadian backing up a Canadian. When Foley leaves that Canadian backup needs to be upgraded.

How can they have respectability when they have clue what they are talking about.

Poor David Lee….his last tweet was that he was so glad his signing with the riders last year happened. Business end of this game sucks for good people.

Tino better change his "I" attitude. Hopefully he does better with a new coordinator.

another season, the riders suck. just one injury away to their old brittle quarterback and all is lost. those prairie buffoons so easy to please. Dan or Kevin would have taken them over the top at backup and a possible Grey Cup.

Roddy, I think the reason you're getting questions on the status of Rod Williams is because on cfl.ca they list the Rider's unsigned FA's and along with Peters and Hughes, they also have Williams, Bartel, DePalma, Ferri and Toston even though some of them were released outright.

Another season – Pointless personal attacks against the team and fan base aside, the Riders got caught last year when Willy went to Winnipeg and we didn't replace him with a proven back-up as there weren't any available, so we stayed the course with our unproven 3rd/4th stringers. This unfortunately happens to many teams. I hope we can bring in Glenn but that remains to be seen, but I doubt signing Sunseri means we have stopped negotiating with Glenn.

Durant is old and brittle? Better check your glasses. There is nobody tougher than DD. Glad Tino is back. But he is 2nd string.

Good news on Tino!

Here is to all the redneck Rider ranters and the bomber and stamp fans that continuously neg-comment on just about everything here. You stupid people make the rest of us fans look good. THANKS!

BT & Company have been working hard with some of these signings. It feels a lot better this year then last year at this time.

Go Riders GO

SAD TO HEAR THAT DAVID LEE IS OFF THE ROSTER. HE'S A GREAT GUY AND ALWAYS HAPPY TO CHAT FOOTBALL OR OTHERWISE. WOULD KIND OF LIKE TO SEE HIM STICK AROUND AS HE HAS BEEN A GREAT ADDITION TO OUR CHURCH, BUT AS THE BUSINESS OF FOOTBALL GOES… MIGHT BE ON TO THE NEXT TEAM SOON I SUPPOSE.

TINO… TINO… NOT SURE WHAT A PERSON SHOULD REALLY SAY ABOUT TINO… BIPOLAR IS RIGHT. SOME AWESOME GAMES AND SOME REALLY UGLY OUTINGS. HERE'S HOPING THAT THE MENTAL SIDE OF HIS GAME WILL GROW THIS YEAR.

Playoff game it appeared the light came on for him a bit.

Was it his fault that Cortez called a run play every time on first down and expected him to convert on second and long with a swiss cheese o-line?

Pierce and Lulay took their lumps early too, so the Riders new OC knows how to work with inexperienced QB’s

Maybe don't go to city council and go on record as a Saskatchewan Roughrider and I'm against all strip bars in city. Is that the entire organization's opinion? Most players even put on twitter opinions are mine and not the team's as a legal disclaimer.

He was so bad last year we had to blow the dust off a "used to be" and now we make resigning him? Welcome back to the all the eggs in one basket 2015 Riders…

I am curious if there is a single team in the league that has a back up that could win in the long run. Many will point to Tate but why has he been passed over numerous times to take the starting job – including to Kevin Glenn.

Fact is if your #1 guy goes down like Durant you are screwed! Nobody is immune to it – Denver, Seattle, New England … Saskatchewan. Young, experienced, ready to play back-ups exist in the same land as unicorns and good looking Manitoba girls.
