REGINA — The Regina Pats broke out with four unanswered goals in the third period to rally for a 5-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades Friday evening in the Brandt Centre before 4403 fans.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period as Regina’s Taylor Cooper found the net in the opening 20.  Saskatoon led 2-1 going into the third but that’s when the Pats erupted on the way to their way to a third consecutive win.

Patrick D’Amico, Colby Williams, Rykr Cole and 15-year old Jake Leschyshyn all scored for the Pats in the final frame as they outshot their provincial rivals by a whopping 54-33 margin.  Daniel Wapple made 31 saves in the Regina net.

Regina was 1/6 on the powerplay and 5/6 killing penalties.

The Pats (29-17-4-2) conclude their three game homestand Saturday evening when they host the Spokane Chiefs at 7:00 on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 6:35 pm).

Another big win for the Boys in Blue last night…they are definitely a 3rd period come back Team as have done it several times since the trades. Gabrielle was the best on the ice for the 1st 2 periods…skilled and gritty…only more to come from him. Leschyshyn fits right in and also very skilled at his age 15! Steele? …amazing moves. This Team is getting better every game…tonight will be a good test for them. If you're not there to watch…your loss!
