DRESSLER SIGNS FOUR YEAR EXTENSION

REGINA – Weston Dressler won’t be hitting the CFL open market.
The veteran slotback signed a four-year contract extension with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday. Dressler was slated to become a free agent Feb. 10.
That means Saskatchewan will have two of its three biggest names under contract when free agency begins. Earlier this week, the Riders re-signed safety Tyron Brackenridge.
That leaves offensive lineman Ben Heenan, who was expected to not only test the CFL free-agent waters but also listen to offers from south of the border.
The five-foot-seven 179-pound Dressler has spent his entire CFL career with Saskatchewan. He re-signed with the Riders last August after being released by the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.
Dressler, 29, has appeared in 107 career CFL games and is the Riders’ third-leading career receiver with 469 catches for 6,856 yards. His 44 receiving touchdowns rank fifth on the franchise’s all-time list.

This comes as no surprise. Saskatchewan is where his heart his, is close to his Home in ND, and he has a real nice off-season job in the City. Don't know this for sure, but would guess Riders got some form of Home-town Discount as Dressler is not selfish and is very much a Team guy!! He knows he is just one part (an important part) of the Bigger picture.

4 years? When was the last time someone signed with the Riders for 4 years? He is now our "little buddy" and will remain that way for awhile. We are going to celebrate by going to Italian Star Deli and having a #7 sandwich! Go Riders!

When I read this I immediately had a vision, one of of being in the stands in 2017 at the home opener and watching Dressler and Durant lead the team out of the tunnel onto the field in the new stadium on Elphinstone.

Nice! Glad you're staying Weston, things are falling into place slowly. Not sure why people rag on Brendan Taman, he just keeps delivering great players to our team.
