RIDERS ADD A PAIR
The Saskatchewan Roughriders today announced international wide receiver Korey Williams and international defensive lineman Chancey Aghayere have joined the teams practice roster.
Williams (6′ – 185) will be in his second CFL season after originally entering the league in 2013 with the B.C. Lions. Last season the NorthWest Oklahoma State product registered seven receptions for 112 yards and one touchdown, while adding one rush attempt for 41 yards in 15 regular season games. The 27-year-old also had 15 punt returns for 56 yards and six kickoff returns for 64 yards.
Aghayere (6’4 – 265) joins the Riders after attending off-season workouts with the Seattle Seahawks. He had previously signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in April, 2013.
Previously, the Texas native played four seasons at Louisiana State where he collected 44 defensive tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and two quarterback sacks in 43 career collegiate games.
Whatever happened to team scouted Import draft development? Canadian player content afforded the time, (see; Shamari Williams). Rough Riders management predicated on other's castoffs. With more time and patience, Anthony Allen good to go as someone's starting running back as evident by his playing stats to date.

Has there ever been an import draft in the CFL?
Aghayere is someone they scouted and want to take a look at. Williams has CFL experience (something the Riders import receivers besides Smith don’t have) and may fit better in the Riders O than BC’s. Teams have different schemes and different coaches have different biases. Just because a player is let go from team A, doesn’t mean that he won’t succeed on team B.

if you look at any RB under the riders they have a good ypc. I think Neal Hughes is like 5.5.
Although Ford averaged 7.7 last game. If he can keep that up(only one game) he will def be an all star along with an all star o-line.
Case in point…..Jock Sanders. Remember he was once a B.C. castoff.
Import development? Impossible!
A team can't hold on to promising rookies unless putting them on their active rosters. Even practice roster guys can be plucked by other teams, and with the extensive scouting everybody has a pretty good idea of the talent and how they might fit into their team.
Not only that, these guys, or their agents will be shopping around to find places for them to play.
