RIDERS LOSE HALL TO PANTHERS

The NFL’s Carolina Panthers have added a top CFL pass rusher with some NFL experience.

Alex Hall, who notched 15 sacks in 2013 for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, has signed with the Panthers, his new club said Friday.

Hall, 28, played two seasons with the Browns (2008-2009). He had stints with the Eagles, Cardinals and Giants in 2010. Overall, he’s notched 39 tackles and three sacks in regular season NFL play.

Hall (6-6, 256) played collegiately at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was a seventh-round pick of the Browns in 2008.

Hall was traded from Winnipeg to Saskatchewan in October 2013, and he played on Saskatchewan’s Grey Cup-winning club. He figures to be a defensive end in Carolina’s 4-3 scheme.

He can't be blamed for wanting a bigger payday but he will likely end up on their practice roster

That's Ok – Taman/Riders will find someone better. He didn't do much with the Riders – was just OK.

Hall really didn't do anything In a Roughriders uniform after his trade from Winnipeg as evident by his production stats. "Maybe" the mindset wasn't Into playing minor league CFL Regina, playing through the motions wanting out asap while waiting on free agency and back to the NFL. Roughriders lose on that trade, he's gone.

Of course they did, all Grey Cup host teams have been winning championship games the past few years, Sk, Toronto, BC, etc etc. Sk victory to appease a long suffering restless fanbase. Host teams loading up while circumventing league salary cap with no consequence? suspect deadline trades? Ricky Ray to Toronto? Alex Hall to Saskatchewan? etc etc, makes for minor hokey bush league garbage image.

Hall was worth the gamble. He got a ring and now he's following his dream. You can't fault Dressler, Sheets or Hall for doing that, just like you can't fault Labatte for coming home.
