FORSBERG TO THE COAST

The Moose Jaw Warriors are happy to announce that graduating defenceman Jesse Forsberg is joining the Colorado Eagles for the remainder of the East Coast Hockey League season.

The Naicam, SK product came into the league as a 16-year-old after being selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft by Prince George.  His career has technically come full circle as the pick used by the Cougars was traded to them by the Warriors.

Not much was known about Forsberg when he was traded to the Warriors last October from the Seattle Thunderbirds, but he became an integral part of the Warriors this season.

He’s hardnosed style has fit in well with the Warriors as he’s set career-highs in goals (10), assists (25) and points (35) in 58 games.

“I’ve had an opportunity to play in a few different cities, obviously a big city in Seattle and a smaller centre in PG, but to finish off in Moose Jaw has been a dream come true for me,” said Forsberg.

The highlight of his five years in the WHL came during his final season in Prince George when he got the chance to play with his younger brother, Alex.

“It was something really special to get to play with him,” said Forsberg.  “Not many people get a chance to do that, so that’s definitely one of the highlights for me was getting to play with my brother.”
