SHEETS SIGNS WITH OAKLAND

It’s been a while since the NFL’s Oakland Raiders have played in the Super Bowl, but they added a player with some recent championship game experience to the team on Wednesday.
That experience came in Canada, but running back Kory Sheets shined in last year’s Grey Cup and took home MVP honors after the Saskatchewan Roughriders won the crown. Now he’ll be trying to help the Raiders find their way back to a winning record after signing a contract with the team.
Sheets ran for 1,598 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2013 season and added 37 catches for 264 yards. He last played in the NFL with the Dolphins in 2009, playing two games and carrying the ball once for five yards. His exploits in Canada got him tryouts with both the Colts and Raiders before he signed a deal with Oakland.
The Raiders are not expected to re-sign running back Darren McFadden, although they are believed to be interested in keeping running back Rashad Jennings on the roster. If things do break that way, there will be an opening for a complementary back and Sheets should be in the mix for that role.

We didn't know who sheets was 2 years ago so it will be interesting who Taman & O'Day pull out of the hat now. Sheets told me on the Grey Cup tour that he wanted an NFL contract done by mid-February or he was coming back here. Glad to see he gets another chance. If he doesn't stick there I won't be surprised to see him back here. He was very accommodating and open as were the other 3 he was with.

Good luck Kory. Wishing you nothing but the best with the Raiders!!! Met him in Lloydminster on the cup tour. Nothing but a great down to earth ambassador for the game of football. He had nothing but time for us and even signed my buds head with grace. Good luck rider nation will be pulling for you!!
OMG our free agents are signing elsewhere and there's no other football players left in north America. Better just fold the franchise and give Ottawa the Roughrider name #overreaction. No player > the team and the S on the helmut stands for Saskatchewan, not Sheets. I for one am excited to see a group of new, hungry football players coming to camp looking to win a job with the defending champs

Jock Sanders sucked as a pure runningback, why do you think they went out and signed Mathews? Let’s not bring him back to be the starting tailback.
Just calling it as I see it: Jock is a slotback with runningback skills and a pretty good returner. Nothing more, nothing less.
