PAT C’S SPLIT WEEKEND

Following their great showing at this year’s MAC’s AAA Midget tournament in Calgary over the Christmas vacation where they lost to the Under-17 Swiss National team, the Regina Pat Canadians traveled to Prince Albert and Duck Lake to play the PA Mintos and the Beardy’s Blackhawks this weekend.

On Saturday, January 4, they lost 8-1 to the PA Mintos and the lone goal scorer for the Pat Canadians was Michael Eskra. Cameron Pateman and Taylor Unruh combined for a total of 25 saves.

On Sunday Regina was victorious over the Beardy’s Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime in Duck Lake.

Scoring in extra time for the game winner was Cohen Yano. Cohen also had a goal during regulation play while the other scorer was Owen Sellinger. Adam Edmands chipped in with two assists.

Curtis Meger made 30 of 32 saves for the win.

The next home game for the Pat Canadians is at the Co-operators Center on Thursday, January 9 with puck drop at 7:45 pm vs the Notre Dame Argos.
