BLAZERS 4 PATS 3 (SO)

REGINA – Jesse Shynkaruk was the lone scorer in the shootout as Kamloops upset the Pats 4-3 Wednesday in the Brandt Centre.

Matt Needham struck twice and added an assist for the Blazers (7-21-4), while Cole Ully scored and had two assists. Taran Kozun made 39 saves.

Boston Leier had a pair of goals for Regina (17-13-2) and Dryden Hunt also found the back of the net. Nick Schneider turned aside 28 shots.

With the point the Pats actually moved up to sixth in the WHL’s Eastern Conference.  They’ll visit the Saskatoon Blades Friday before returning home to face the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday evening.  Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on Access 7.

That wasn't the game I came to see. Opening home game, biggest crowd of the season, return from West Coast road trip and teddy bear toss night; the Pats find a way to soil the sheets. No life, energy or heart. With all due respect to Mr Vanstone, the crowds won't improve until this team proves it's a genuine contender. I don't see that being this season. That veteran D man has been playing that way all season.Way too soft and no sense of urgency, letting guys walk out from the corners and score or turning the puck over in our end but continues to play in all situations. Maybe a game or 2 in the press box is needed? We need some bigger, tougher D men who are willing to pay the price.

Can I guess who this player may be from the 2 comments. I think its jersey # 5. I won't mention names because that would be rude. However, I hope Mr. Lang would agree with these comments and look at doing something.
