POINT NIGHT IN PATS BLUE & WHITE GAME

REGINA – Duncan Pierce, Carter Massier and Ryker Evans each put up two points to lead Team Blue past Team White 5-1 in the Pats annual intra-squad game on Monday night at the Brandt Centre.

 Team White opened the scoring in the contest when Tyson Feist took a pass in the right circle and buried it short side. Cole Dubinsky and Garrett Wright drew assists. Team Blue tied it when Zane Rowan tipped home a Ryker Evans point shot at 12:47, Duncan Pierce picked up the second assist. Blue took their first lead two minutes later when Carter Massier banged home his own rebound at the side of the net to make it 2-1 and that was the score after 20 minutes. In the middle frame, Team Blue went up 3-1 on the powerplay, Josh Paulhus scored on a rebound with assists to Jake Johnson and Colby Woogk at 7:03. Blue carried that two-goal lead into the third when, Logan Nijhoff scored to make it 4-1 on a pass from Carter Massier. Sloan Stanick picked up the second assist, 57 seconds into the period. Blue finished off the scoring at 9:38 thanks to Riley Krane, Duncan Pierce and Ryker Evans picked up the helpers to make it 5-1 and that was the final score.

Ryker Evans, Carter Massier and Duncan Pierce led the offence for Team Blue with two points each. Matthew Kieper made 12 saves on 13 shots for Team Blue, his replacement Mathew Pesenti stopped all 11 he faced. Liam Stevens made 14 saves on 17 shots for Team White and then gave way for Liam Bechtold who stopped 15 of 17.

 The Pats will kick off the pre-season on Tuesday night in Moose Jaw against the Warriors at 7 p.m. The first home game on the pre-season schedule is Friday against Saskatoon at 7 p.m. at the Brandt Centre.
