CFL SIM DOUBLEHEADER: ARGOS, LIONS WIN

HAMILTON – The traditional Battle of the QEW was a dogfight with the Toronto Argonauts continuing their East Division mastery, knocking off the Tiger-Cats 26-11 at Tim Hortons Field in Week 13 of the CFL SIM season.

In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, the Ticats made a change at quarterback with Dane Evans getting the start ahead of Jeremiah Masoli. However the change didn’t last long, as Evans was knocked out of the Labour Day Classic just two plays in courtesy a vicious hit by the Argos’ Earl Okine.

Masoli passed for 347 yards however he was unable to register a touchdown. The Argos led 6-5 after the first quarter, 12-5 at halftime and carried a 26-8 lead into the fourth quarter.

Toronto QB Matt Nichols also threw for 347 yards however he mixed three interceptions and a touchdown. Natey Adjei led all Argo receivers with 103 yards. Llevi Noel (72 yards) and Juwan Brescacin (70 yards) also joined the aerial attack.

The Argos improved to 8-3 with the win while the Ticats fell to 3-9.

BC 26 OTTAWA 1

OTTAWA – BC quarterback Mike Reilly did Mike Reilly things in Week 13, throwing for 371 yards and a touchdown in a 26-1 rout of the RedBlacks at TD Place Stadium.

In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, BC’s Sergio Castillo booted six field goals and Caleb Holley scored on a 74-yard bomb. The Lions controlled the field position battle for the entire game with their worst drive start commencing at their 36-yard line. The RedBlacks crossed midfield on just one occasion as they saw their four game win streak come to an end.

The victory upped the Lions record to 7-5 while the RedBlacks fell to 4-8.

Week 13 concludes with a Labour Day Monday doubleheader to be broadcast on Facebook Live on The Rod Pedersen Show Facebook page. Winnipeg (4-6) at Saskatchewan (8-2) kicks it off at 1:00 pm MT followed by Edmonton (6-4) at Calgary (8-3) at 4:00 pm.
