‘How are you feeling Bills fans?’

The Tennessee Titans caused an upset on Monday Night Football beating the Buffalo Bills 31-34. The Titans have not been in the conversation as a top NFL team this season, but stopping the AFC East leading Bills, and their four-game winning streak, made a statement. This puts both of the teams at 4-2 this season.

“I didn’t watch a snap of Monday Night Football live, but believe me, I got up and saw all the news, how you feeling Bills fans?” said Rod Pedersen on Tuesday’s episode of The Rod Pedersen Show.

It was an entertaining football game with a very exciting finish. At the end of the fourth quarter, the Bills had an opportunity to tie the game with a field goal, but Bills head coach Sean McDermott chose to go for the touchdown to win the game. The Bills were unable to get the touchdown however, Bills quarterback Josh Allen was tackled just short of the end zone by Amani Hooker, Titans safety. This caused a turnover and the Titans won it.

“I’d still make that call if I’m Sean McDermott,” said Darren Dupont on Tuesday’s episode. “You got a big quarterback who just needs an inch, a couple of inches, just so happens that he lost his footing and the Titans defense made the stop and that’s the game.”

NFL/CFL Insider Tori Gurley was back on the show Tuesday and discussed his thoughts on the game too. Gurley is a Bills alumni as well, he played for the team in 2014.

“It’s disheartening to see Buffalo not win that game,” said Gurley. “Everybody had them up on a pedestal. We were ready to crown them as being the team, one of the leaders in the AFC, and I don’t know, they go out and lose to a Tennessee Titans team that struggled all year long. So as of now, this thing is up in the air. The only consistent thing that we have is Tom Brady, he’s still rolling, and Lamar Jackson just continues to win games so when it’s all said and done, it wouldn’t shock me if those two teams are left standing.”

Some NFL fans are calling the Titans win a fluke, but maybe this is the start of their upward trajectory? Regardless, we have to give some credit to Titan’s running back Derrick Henry. He collected 156 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns on just 22 touches. He has been the NFL’s leading rusher in each of the past two seasons and delivered for the Titans last night.

“I don’t think the Titans are a top five team today, but they’re close,” said Darren Dupont. “They got to get a little bit more going in their pass game, and their defense is really bad. But the red zone defense was good. I thought it was too easy for Josh Allen on third downs with [Wide Receiver] Stefon Diggs. But the red zone defense was good, and when it mattered Tennessee came up with a stop at the end of the game.”

Another big test for the Titans will come this Sunday (Oct.24) when they play the Kansas City Chiefs at home. Meanwhile, the Bills will be thinking about their loss during their bye-week and will return to play the Miami Dolphins at home on Oct.31.

Sean McDermott/Josh Allan should have made a emergency call to the Saskatchewan Roughriders Football Club on how to disguise a quarterback sneak and have it called a touchdown when it’s actually not a touchdown. It goes something like this as played by the Riders this year. Schoolyard pile on the whole team where the referees can’t distinguish or see where the ball is but call it 6 points on the board anyway even though the ball not over the goal line.
