THURSDAY RUNDOWN: DREGER, KAILLIE HUMPHRIES & PGA/SAUDI TALK!
We pretty much covered it ALL on Thursday’s Episode #708 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – live from Grey Eagle Resort & Casino! Read on for the rundown:
- RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Wednesday’s NHL one-timers including the Leafs getting trounced by Buffalo (Moose isn’t concerned), 2) NFL News – the Seahawks won’t trade Russell Wilson and the Cardinals give Kingsbury & Keim an extension, 3) Tiger Woods collects $8M from the PGA Player Impact Program for promoting the game, 4) Team Russia is removed from EASports’ FIFA Soccer and NHL games, 5) Wednesday’s Dub games, and 6) Big Thursday NHL games including Montreal at Calgary!
- TSN NHL Insider Darren Dreger joined the show and agreed now is a tough time to be a Russian NHL player. Dregs outlined everything the players are facing amid world events. He also went deep on the Winnipeg Jets saying the team’s braintrust truly feels they’re a good team, and could be a contender with a healthy lineup. He also previewed the Canadiens/Flames match-up, and said the comments by former NHL referee lashing out at Jets star Mark Scheifele are “ridiculous”.
- We had another special treat in Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer when we were joined by controversial 4-time Olympian Kaillie Humphries. After representing Canada three times in Bobsleigh, she left over a dispute with Bobsleigh Canada and competed in Beijing for the USA, winning gold in Monobob. She went deep into her story as to why she left, and said it was the best feeling ever to win gold last month. However she said it was on par with winning gold in 2010 in Whistler. Kaillie said she has no plans to slow down and plans to compete in the 2026 Games.
- The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which NFL QB will be traded first – Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Deshaun Watson or Aaron Rodgers? At press time, Watson was leading.
- Golf analyst and the Voice of PGA20K Luke Elvy joined the show from CanGolf Canmore to discuss the Phil Mickelson situation and the PGA/Saudi tour controversy. Regarding Phil, Luke said it’s best for everyone to cool off for the time being. Elvy explained the resources the Saudis possess and that they could snatch up the PGA if they really wanted to, however the world’s top players don’t want to defect. It was a wide-ranging chat and Luke promoted the CanGolf simulator facility in Canmore.
- Wednesday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Catriona Lemay Doan. Thursday’s was Kaillie Humphries.
- We’ll see you at 12 pm ET on Game+ TV and YouTube Live for a Flame Tech Football Friday! We’ll be joined by Calgary Stampeders assistant coaches Mark Killam and Marc Mueller.
The Olympics are really not thee Olympics anymore.
When athletes switch countries to win a hunk of metal. That is not for love of the game. That is not for love of country. It is not like living/working in a new country and wanting to show gratitude to the new homeland.
Really it is nothing more than being a glory pig and if anything it is shameful.
Mr Pedersen, even the you had a restless night not due to your circumstances your show today was really good with a nice flow from subject to subject. Thanks.
