BEDARD DAZZLES IN PATS SEASON FINALE
Regina, Sask. — Connor Bedard stole the show in the Regina Pats season finale on Sunday afternoon, registering five points, including his 50th goal and 100th point, in a 7-4 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Pats entered action out of playoff contention, but still had a lot to play for, including their three graduating 20-year-old players: Logan Nijhoff, Ryker Evans and Neithan Salame, plus Bedard had been held at 49 goals for the previous two games in a row.
A lot went right on Easter Sunday, not only with Bedard making history as the youngest ever 50-goal scorer in the Western Hockey League, but also with Nijhoff scoring his 25th goal of the season in his final game, and Evans reaching the 60-point plateau in his final game.
Cole Dubinsky also hit a new milestone, scoring twice to reach the 20-goal plateau for the first time in his career. Tanner Howe and Zane Rowan also scored in the win, while Kelton Pyne picked up the victory.
Scoring for the Warriors were Denton Mateychuk, who had a pair, plus Riley Niven and Eric Alarie.
